Congratulations to all the GT Independent students for a successful showing this year! Their projects were covered a wide range of topics. Daniela Barrio's project raised awareness about Post Traumatic Stress among the military and facilitated a fundraising campaign via an orchestra concert. Daniela Balarezo created an advocacy campaign about current immigration issues. Alex Lewis' project raised money for El Paso High School's CRC program. Sarah Gonzalez's work with the Therapeutic Horsemanship of El Paso also raised funds to sponsor students to participate in the program. And finally, Hannah Hollandbyrd's project looked at the transparency and accessibility of 7 local government entities. Hannah's project received top district honors for "Outstanding Achievement for Most Authentic to Field of Study." Daniela Balarezo also received top district honors for "Outstanding Achievement in Confronting Social Issues." Congratulations everyone!
